NZ Music on Grey’s Anatomy

Proud to say that Liam Finn’s ‘Gather to the Chapel’ features on Season 5 Episode 15 of Grey’s Anatomy for the ‘in chapel’ scene.

Liam Finn is, of course, Neil Finn’s (of Split Enz and Crowded House fame) son and one of the complete legends who call NZ home. He was the frontman for Betchadupa (those were the days) and released his solo album in 2007. My lovely parents bought me the album, knowing how much I love random NZ music and it’s been one of my favs ever since. Major props to Liam for getting the song onto such a hit show’s soundtrack in what is going to be a killer episode - I’ll say no more about that.

Fi’s Festive Christmas Quiz

Bear with me, this does have relevance - two and a half years ago, in Singapore airport, I wrote a rather random quiz instead of sending a massively long email about what I was doing. Unfortunately the quiz was never sent because my flight was called so you will never know whether I was looking forward to going to the Czech Republic or not.

I have decided that this is a much more fun (not “funner”, that’s not a word) method for my Christmas update so here is Fi’s Festive Christmas Quiz. There’s actual prizes (from London) for the person that gets the most right and the person who gets the most wrong so you’ve got until 11:59pm (GMT) on 31/12/06 to get those answers to me (post them as comments). Tralalalala and Merry Christmas to all!

How cool is this?

Another thing to “add” to Huggies’ futreat post! Lots to be glad about today :o)

18 months ago, Scott Adams, who does the Dilbert cartoons, permanently lost his voice through a rather weird condition called Spasmodic Dysphonia. No one has ever been recorded as recovering from it.

I like cartoons and I’m very fond of Dilbert so I was thrilled to discover today that Scott was feeling particularly joyful yesterday because his brain “remapped” and his voice returned.  As David Farrar said, “a day doesn’t get much better than that.”
